Now the calendar says 2017, I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year!
To mark the change I have dug up a freebie I made long ago but waited for this special day to post. The name of the template I used is Happy New Year and makes today The Day for giving it to you.
It is a bundle of 5 Paper Packs each containing 30/20 stamped ornamental papers.
On a Personal Note
I hope your New Years Eve was better than mine….. Not that we didn’t get the good food, the champagne and the good time, but some things were not as they use to be.
First of all, the TV-suppliers had a major break down so no TV to all of Denmark. This break down happened about 15 minutes before the biggest Danish New Year tradition – The Queen’s Speech. Luckily, we found a transmission on line, but it wasn’t the same gathering around a computer. The lack of TV also made the night different as we are among those who usually watch some of the traditional New Year shows, but we managed by drinking some extra champagne.
Then just before midnight it was back to the computer to find a transmission of the Town House clock – the only way we would now when the year actually changed. Found it but still not the same as a big screen TV.
After midnight we found out another big difference between living in the country’s capital and in a very small town – The Fireworks. In Copenhagen we were used to a ear deafening feast lasting several hours. Last night we given a nice looking firework display lasting less than 30 min. But that’s OK – the early silence was nice for once.
But, unfortunately, the silence didn’t last. Around 2 am we heard some very loud bangs outside that were NOT fireworks. After checking around we found out that some – probably drunk – idiots had pushed down our marble lion down the front stone steps to make it land all shattered. And to make there “fun” even better they had pulled up our fairy light tree and thrown it on the ground and moved our drying rack one street down. What the H… makes that kind of behaviour necessary? Vandalism never made any sense to me…
But now it’s the day after and the incident is reported to the police (who will probably do nothing but make a note of it) and we have started a new year. Hope the start does not make an example for how it’s going to be.
Now for something more positive…
I found a Christmas Freebie I had forgotten to post!!! So with a belated Merry Christmas you get it here:
Extra Christmas Elements
It’s a big pack of mixed elements made with one of the colour palettes I used for other Christmas freebies and made from some of the posted papers – I hope you will find use for them
That was all from me on this first day of a new year.
All the best to you and yours
